Established in 1974 by Robert Soucy Sr., Port Harbor Marine has emerged as the premier marina and boat dealership in the Northeast. With over a hundred dedicated employees across six locations—five in Maine and one in Massachusetts—Port Harbor Marine operates two cutting-edge marinas and five dealerships representing thirty renowned boat and marine brands.
Through continuous expansion and unwavering commitment, Port Harbor Marine remains dedicated to providing the ultimate family boating experience while actively supporting the fishing community and various local organizations. Our History
1965: A disused fish cannery on the South Portland shore was transformed into a modest marina. By 1974, under limited growth and services, it boasted less than twenty usable boat slips.
1974: Robert C. Soucy Sr. acquired the marina, expanding it into a comprehensive service facility with thirty slips and moorings (Port Harbor Marine was born).
1979: Port Harbor Marine won the bid to develop a new marina in South Portland.
1980: The original location was sold, and Port Harbor Marine relocated to its current site on Spring Point Drive. Spring Point Marina spans over 18,000 square feet of buildings on six acres of land and features 250 boat slips, making it one of the largest marine dealer/marina facilities in the Northeast.
1989: Breakwater Marina, with 121 slips, was built near Spring Point Marina.
1993: Port Harbor Marine acquired 104 slips of the Breakwater Marina and manages both marinas.
1993: Port Harbor Marine opened a new branch in Brewer, Maine, offering full services for boats, motors, trailers, parts, and sales. It quickly became a top choice in the Bangor and Brewer area.
1996: Port Harbor Marine acquired Jordan Bay Marina on Sebago Lake in Raymond, Maine, expanding its marina and boat service offerings.
2000: Port Harbor Marine purchased 120 Breakwater Annex in South Portland, expanding its operations.
2002: The Port Harbor Marine Brewer location moved to a larger facility in Holden, Maine, offering boat sales and rentals.
2005: Port Harbor Marine acquired Harbor Marine the boat sales and service division of Wayfarer Marine in Rockport, Maine, adding to its services.
2007: Ownership transferred to Robert C. Soucy's sons, Rob, Mike and Marc who continues the company's success today.
2008: Port Harbor Marine opens a new location in Kittery, Maine, offering parts, service, storage, and boat sales.
2013: The Breakwater Annex property was sold, and a new facility at 130 Breakwater Drive in South Portland was purchased.
2015: Port Harbor Marine renovated its Raymond facility, expanding operations and storage areas.
2018: Port Harbor Marine becomes an Employee-Owned business providing it’s crewmembers an incredible benefit and succession plan for the future while helping to strengthen it’s company’s culture.
2020: Port Harbor Marine adds 50 new boat slips to its Raymond location on Sebago Lake vastly increasing the number of boats it can accommodate.
2021: Port Harbor Marine installs a state-of-the-art wave-attenuating dock system at its Spring Point Marina facility to better protect the marina, reduce shoreline erosion and make a more comfortable experience for our customers.
2023: Port Harbor Marine grew again and acquired Baert Marine in Middleton, Massachusetts, a 50-year family-owned boat dealership.
